Snowflakes and angels tatting.

Hi all,

I don't have a card for you today but I really wanted to share some photo's with you.

Look at my gorgeous snowflakes...

I wish I could say I made these but I don't have that sort of talent.
They were a gift from my friend Margaret (aka MargaretD2)
she loves to do tatting and is so clever.
I was so suprised when these arrived in the post this week.

there are lots of them, I have only shown a few here today. They look gorgeous on my tree.

Margaret also made me some pretty angels, here are two of them....

I can't stop looking at these and all the amazing work that has gone into them.

huge thanks to Margaret, (Margaret, you know I will treasure them)

please check out margarets blog here to see more of her lovely tatting and a snowflake everyday leading up to christmas.
margaret also has an etsy shop, the link is on her blog.

Huge thank you margaret and I hope you dont mind me sharing this on my blog, I love them so much, I just had to show them off to all my friends in blogland.

I've coloured her with copic markers.
appologies for the poor lighting on my photographs again.
hubby is an excellent photographer but can I get him to take pictures of my cards?
.........nope!

so I'll will just have to do my best.

and star dies

the sentiment comes with the marci stamp.

Christmas table

Morning all,
Brrrrr it's freezing here again, thank goodness I dont have to go out today.

I'm here to show you some little boxes I've made for the christmas table. I'm putting names on them so I can seat people where I want them and where they will be happy.
You know what big families are like, you have to keep some members a safe distance apart. (or is that just my family) lol

I've used the spellbinders fancy tags 2 dies for the front and back of my box.

The papers are BoBunny father christmas pad from last year.
I have got a new pack of papers this year but i'm still wading through some of my favorites from last year.

The flowers are made from La La Land Lotus flower die.

and the holly is La La Land holly flourish which I cut up to use just the leaves, they were perfect for this little box.

I also added a couple of red gems and used a  punch to make the tiny tag.

If you haven't tired La La Land dies yet you are missing out, no, seriously. they are the best dies i have used so far. I cut 300gsm card and then just tap the back of the die with my finger and the card falls out. how many dies can you say that about!

I'm a la la fan as you can tell. lol
Pop over to Oysterstamps and have a look at the dies and the stamps.
I've not tried the stamps yet but I have got a couple on order so watch this space!

All I need for my little dinner boxes are a couple of little chocolates but if I buy them this early they will get eaten.
(self confessed choc-o-holic)

thanks for popping in to see me today and if I can help with anything just ask. I don't bite (unless you are made of chocolate)!

New DT position

hi all,
i'm so excited today to be able to tell you all that i am now a design team member for oysterstamps.

i've been a huge oysterstamps fan for ages now and always look on their site for my new goodies and i've been lucky enough to visit the shop a few times.

i was even there today.
the girls were friendly as they always are and we oo-d and ahhh-d over the new dies they were putting out.

there are so many new dies ansd stamps, the shop is full to bursting point so i was in my eliment.

the shop now sells the La La Land dies and must say these are possibly the best dies i have ever used. they are really pretty and come out of the dies so easily.
i was suprised at how easy they are to use.

here is one of the cards i made

I didn't have a bauble die so i used my La La Land Hot air Balloon die and turned it upside down.
i think its worked perfectly.

i used snowflake embossing folder from cuttlebug and a lovely sentiment stamp from Hot of the Press.
it was in a set called Christmas Words.
i used gold embossing powder on the sentiment

this was such a quick and simple card to make but i have had some lovely comments on it.

I also made this card

i don't usually make gatefold cards but it worked for this design.

i used a sizzix embossing folder called Loving Thoughts for the frame.
i cut round it to make a frame
i used three different la la land dies on this one

rolled rose,
large flourish
and
creepy vines.

i'm not keen on my colour combo for this one, what was i thinking!
lol
I make it in pink and white tomorrow.

thank you for stopping by and i really hope you will come back.

hugs for now
suzanne (the happy bunny)

Christmas with Love

hello, I'm here with my first DT christmas

the challenge is to make a christmas card. how difficult can it be? lol
please come and join us as we love to see all your beautiful creations.

this calendar card was an absolute joy to make thanks to Norma for her inspiration.
please pop over to her blog for a template.
I'm fast becoming a Norma fan, her blog is amazing and she is one very talented lady.

I decided to use a Whiff of Joy stamp called Willow with Lantern. she isnt a new one but she really is so lovely.
I've used copic markers and i do have a note of which shades i used so please feel free to ask if you want them, I don't want to bore you with a long list if its not interesting. lol

the date tags are a simple woodware heart punch and GoKreate Leeds alphabet dies set for the numbers. i used antique linen and forest moss distress inks.

the flowers are marianne dies in two sizes.

oh and i used nestabilities decorative labels 8
i love this set!

right, over to you now, i'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this great challenge.

thank you for any comments you may wish to leave.

Meet Snowy my favorite snowman

hello,
today i decided to play with Snowy. he's a penny black stamp that i have had on my 'wants' list for two years.
I managed to get him at a bargain price on ebay in september.
today i inked him up and he was as adorable as i had remembered him to be.

sorry about the poor photography again.

I've made a sidestepper blank in sky blue.
Snowy was stamped onto white cardstock and cut out using my newest dies Resplendent Rectangles, available from oysterstamps here

watch my blog for more cards using these dies, I've made a really pretty frame to use next. There are so many option with this mix and match set.

I also used a sizzix die for the 'let it snow' sentiment.

the snowflakes are from marrianne. and I layered them up before adding some stardust stickles.

I put two of the snowflakes on clear acetate danglers but they dont show too well in the poor photo's.

finially I used Decoart Snow Writer to add the dimentional snow dots.

Snowy from penny Black was coloured with copics.

well this has really got me in the christmas mood so i'm off now to make another christmas card.

thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may wish to leave.

pretty poppies

Hello,

i am really excited about this post as i have been asked to be a guest design team member for Joanna Sheen challenge blog.

i was really honoured to be asked and wanted to make something special so i dug out my favorite poppy stamps and my copic markers.
here is my first card

i've used red and black cardstock to cut the shape using sizzix 3D accordian die. its much easier than it looks.
I also used scalloped labels 1 and labels 1 from spellbinders nestabilities.

Joanna sheens Favorite Flowers, wild flowers, Dancing Poppies can be found here
these flowers really are a delight to colour.
i chose copic markers this time but i often use promarkers.

the lovely sentiment can be found here

they are Sheena Douglas A Little Bit Sketchy, poppy and daisies.

I used a little Bundled Sage distress ink round the sentiment, leaving the labels 1 die in place to give me the nice white border.

this is the front of the card, its all folds down nice and compact so its a lovely suprise when its opened out.
I've added plain card to back panel so that i have somewhere to write my message.
my final photo is a top view to give you an idea of the shape a little better. its not easy to take pictures of this shaped card. (ok, im a rubbish photographer) lol

if ive missed anything please feel free to ask, im happy to help if i can and thank you for any comments you may want to leave.

Please come and join us at joanna sheens challenge blog.

please come back and see what i can come up with for my next dt card, just in time for christmas. aww is that a clue? lol

thank you for stopping by, i really appreciate your visit.

hugs suzanne

christmas greetings

hello, thank you popping in to my blog. i know its been neglected for awhile but hopefully i am on the mend now so i will be a better blogger.

today i have a quick card and my first christmas card for 2012

i'm sorry about the poor photo. these dark days are killing my photography skills.

i have used some green cardstock from my stash, im not sure where i got it from.

the frame is a sizzix embossing folder called Loving Thoughts and can be found here

i cut it out twice and layered it up using 3D sticky pads.

the sentiment is from papermainia. i wish it was slightly bigger though, i need to look for some sentiment stamps now.

the flowers are marianne poinsettia, i used the large set and the small set
the pine leaves are a martha steward punch which is really difficult to get hold of so i dont have a link, sorry.
i made the little fir cones from a sizzix die called Bitty Blossoms i cut the smallest size from brown cardstock and rolled half of it to make each cone.
they are not perfect but do look ok. if anyone knows of a nice little cone die or punch i would love to hear from you.

i'm not entering this into any challenges but i still wanted to add it to my blog.

thank you for looking.

Flowers and pearls

hello, its been a busy time for me with hospital appointments but i still managed to fit in a little crafting.
this card is my DT card for fussy and fancy challenge blog.
this week is flower and pearls.
what girl doesn't like flowers and pearls so please come and join us and let us see all your lovely creations.

here is my card

of course its another easle card, i told you its my favorite style!

i used some plain pink cardstock embossed with the Tied Togther embossing folder.

the frame is decrotive labels eight from spellbinders.

i used matching stamps from JustRite but my pink ink was too pale. i'll have to seach for a different pink one as i think i will be needing it a lot more.

the sentiment is from the same set of stamps.

the flowers were white card cut using the Heartfelt Creations Delicate Aster dies.
the leaves are from the same set and ive coloured both with copics.

for the finishing touch i added some pearls and lace that was kindly sent to me from PaulineJ over at docrafts.
thanks pauline, i can me making lots of lacy cards now.

November already!

hello,

i'm here to show you the calendar page i have made for my friend papercraftpat.

(hello pat~ ~ waves~ # )

I can't believe we only have one more page to go after this one, the year has flown by.

so here it is....

sorry about the poor lighting, i really must get some photography lesson's from hubby!

i used 3 shades of blue card from my stash,

the ribbon is much more sparkly in real life and was a gift from pat so now she gets a little bit of it back.

the wording was cut using my GoKreate die set.

the image was a pleasure to colour with my copics and was a freebie from
whimsie doodles

i'll definiately be using this site again, the images are adorable.
I've added some star dust stickles to her sparklers.

so its November next week and hubby has a birthday on the 3rd, i think i better get his card made next. I've got the image ready so just need to find some nice manly papers lol

watch this space!

thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, i really appreciate them all.

Pretty in Pink

hello crafters,
It's a lovely sunny day here again but a bit on the blowy side. I really need some chai tea but it will have to wait!

I'm here with a girlie card for my pretty girlie daughter-in-law.
the image is from saturated canary and it really reminds me of our Gemma.

Gemma looked like this on her wedding day

(can't resist the oppotuntiy to slip in another wedding picture) lol

here is the finished card..

i used spellbinders decorative labels eight to cut the image.
pink glitter card from my stash

i added a few nail gems to her hair for some added bling.

the sentiment is cut using my new Britania dies which arrived this morning, perfect timing from Pink Frog Crafts.

i'm really please with these delicate word dies.

(Note to Gemma, have a lovely day Gem and i know your biggest wish can't come true but i hope all your other ones do. you deserve it. happy birthday)!

right, so it really is time to get the kitchen floor mopped now, ive put it off long enough.

back later.
thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may wish to leave.

Heartfelt Asters

Hello crafters,

Aww its a chilly morning her in Essex, anyone would think it was winter!

I spent some time flattening clothes this morning and when i finished i was a bit warmer and thought i deserved a little treat so i reached for the mobile and rang Oyster stamps.
Its my most favorite place and they had a new Aster stamp so that is now on its way to me.

I really love the Aster collection from Heartfelt Creations, the stamps print with such fine lines, not like some of the chunkier ones.

i made this card yesterday

Im afraid i can't tell you where the pretty pink paper came from as i've lost the front cover from the pack. i have a feeling it was a freebie with a magazine but i could be wrong.

plain card in two shades of pink are from papermania's textured capsule.
frame is made using martha stewart punches.

the beautiful stamp is fom Heatfelt Creations Aster collection and i've used the matching die set to make the flowers.
both from oysterstamps.

the sentiment is from a justRite set called Grande sentiments and is also from oysterstamps. (i can see a pattern here)! lol

i will enter my card into the challenge at

thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may wish to leave.

Monochrome

hi all, I'm here with the start of my male cards, I have loads to make for november and as im too good at mens card i thought I had better make a start on them.

for inspiration i went straight to Here Come the Boys, well were else would give me what i need!

the challenge there is monochrome and i thought that was a great place to start.

don't you just these dark days, it's so difficult to get a good photo. any tips would be appreciated.

i've used white and grey papermania papers.
white buttons from my stash.
(don't come in my house with cute buttons on your shirt, i'll be snipping them away)!

the image was coloured with a mix of grey promarkers.

i put the pale grey paper through  the bigshot using the birthday embossing folder from cuttlebug.

so this is male card number one.....only 6 more to go!

i will enter this one into the challenge at Here Come the Boys

Monday 8 October 2012

not another easel card!

yep, i'm afraid so. it is another easel card today. well i did tell you they are my favorites.

todays one is round and i used my large GoKreate circle dies to cut the card blank.

i've plain red cardstock from oysterstamps, its lovely and thick, i'm guessing probably 350gsm

sentiment was also from oysterstamps and come from a set by JustRite called Grand Sentiments.

this adorable image is a penny black stamp, sent to me by my friend Abby.

(thanks Abby, shhh can you see my colouring mistake)?

i made a little pocket in the base so that i could tuck a round tag in there as its always hard to know where to write on an easle card.

i can't take credit for the tag idea as i got it from Dorte, she has entered a beautiful easle card into the challenge at fussyandfancy and i really enjoyed browsing her blog and i borrowed her tag idea.
Dorte, thank you for the inspiration.
you can see her card and blog here

i will enter this card into the challenge at Anything Goes.

thank you for looking at my blog and for any comments you might leave.

hugs suzanne x
